Michael Hutchence left behind a wonderful legacy.  With his
timeless lyrics, his beautiful vocals, he left the world a richer place.
As the front man for INXS Michael rose to super stardom.  His songs
remain on playlists across the globe.

His musical endeavors outside of INXS were not as widely known,
but were critically acclaimed.

Michael's work in motion pictures, while not as well known, is also
held in high esteem by many in the industry.

Michael Hutchence (self-titled) Solo Album
In 1989, after the success of Kick, all the
members of  INXS needed a break.
Michael used the hiatus to work with
Ollie Olsen, a musician he had worked
with on the Dogs In Space soundtrack.
Ollie was know for being
anti-establishment, and was just what
Michael was looking for.
 Michael wanted
to explore musically, do something
completely different from INXS.  The
result was Max Q.

While critically acclaimed, the album
failed to reach the masses.  Michael was
always proud of what he did with Max Q,
and thought it was some of his best work.

Michael's self titled solo album was, sadly, his
last work.  The songs on Michael's solo album
were very different from anything he had done
before.  Working with Andy Gill of
Gang of
Four
, and Danny Saber, Michael recorded this
album over the last two years of his life.  It is
clear from the lyrics that Michael was writing
on a more personal level than he ever had
before.

One track,
Slide Away, was such a hauntingly
beautiful song, that the producers contacted
Bono to finish the song.  The result was a soul
searing duet.

No one will ever know what the album would
have done had Michael lived to see it released.
It was critically acclaimed, and fans all over the
world hold it as one of Michael's best works.
